Visas and Passes
All visa prone nationalities must obtain Uganda visas to facilitate their entry into the country. Uganda visas may be obtained at Uganda missions abroad or on arrival at the ports of entry in the country. All travellers to the Repubic of Uganda MUST have a valid Yellow Fever Immunization card.

Note: visas do not permit gainful or voluntary employment in Uganda and passports are required for all and must be valid past the date of expected departure from Uganda.

Money and Methods of Payment
Currency: The National currency is Uganda shillings (UGX). Notes are in denominations of UGX50,000; UGX20,000; UGX10,000; UGX5,000; UGX2,000 and UGX1,000. Coins are in denominations of UGX1,000; UGX500; UGX200; UGX100 and UGX50. However the most used currency in tourism transactions is US Dollars (USD). Foreign currency may be exchanged at the Foreign Exchange Bureaus found at Entebbe International Airport on arrival or in Kampala city and all the other major towns in Uganda. It is always advisable to exchange money if need be in Entebbe or Kampala City.
